little things: life things

this weekend…
fall flowers
My love brought home gorgeous fall colored flowers, just because.

We took a long walk around the neighborhood on a cool, fall night complete with our camera and a salted caramel hot chocolate.  We had no other intentions besides capturing beauty… the sun setting in the sky, the resilient blooms not yet withered, the lights from the shop windows filling the street with coziness on a calm, chilly night.

We sat on the bench and noticed… a lone sailboat silently floating across the lake, a solitary fisherman by the water’s edge, and other brave walkers uninhibited by the chill in the air.
And H greeted every person, baby, dog, bird, boat, and car… and tried to drink all the hot cocoa he could.  (We should never have told him it tasted like warm chocolate milk.)

After the sun set, the cocoa gone, and our noses pink,  we agreed that this was the perfect way to spend our Friday evening.  together. amazing by the beautiful world.

Then, we walked a little faster towards our apartment, in anticipation of  a cozy fire, our warm pjs,  pumpkin cheesecake, and Thursday’s episodes of our favorite shows.

How was your weekend?  I hope it was lovely.

  1. A perfectly lovely post. :) My weekend was wonderful but we still have pretty warm weather... I'm so excited for cooler temps and fires in the fireplace. ♥
